Terms of service

The agreement between you and Sess when you use it.

Effective 27 October 2026. Updated 30 October 2026: the operator is named as Sess Labs Inc. Change log

Who agrees to what

Sess is operated by Sess Labs Inc., a British Columbia company (“Sess”, “we”). By creating an account, using an API key or paying for a plan, you agree to them. Our Privacy policy explains what we do with personal information.

What Sess is

Sess lets an AI agent ask a person a question through a Sess link, receive a typed answer and continue its work. Each accepted answer comes with a receipt signed by Sess.

What Sess is not for

  • Irreversible or protected approvals: payments, deletions, access grants or anything else that must not happen on the word of whoever holds a link.
  • Verifying identity: an answer comes from whoever held the link. Sess does not verify who that was.
  • Notifications: Sess does not deliver messages to people. Your agent sends the link.

A signed receipt records what Sess accepted. It does not prove who answered, what they understood or what happened afterwards.

If you answer a Sess link

You do not need an account. The developer who sent you the link is responsible for what it asks and what they do with your answers.

Acceptable use

  • Send Sess links only to people who expect them, and keep them out of logs, analytics and public channels.
  • Do not use Sess to break the law, to deceive or harass people, or to collect information you have no right to collect.
  • Do not try to get around plan limits, rate limits or access controls, or to reach data that is not yours.
  • Do not try to break, overload or probe the service. Report security problems through Support and contact.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we tell you first.

Your account and keys

  • Accounts and paid plans are for people 18 and older.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account and your API keys. Keep keys secret and revoke a key you think is exposed; you can do this from your account at any time.
  • You are responsible for the content your agents send through Sess and for having the right to send it.

Plans and billing

  • The Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans are billed monthly in US dollars, with tax added where it applies. Prices are on Pricing.
  • Stripe processes payments. A paid plan renews each month until you cancel.
  • Price changes apply only going forward, never retroactively.

Cancelling

Cancel in Manage billing, from your account. Your plan continues to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew.

Refunds

We do not give prorated refunds when you cancel; you keep your plan until the end of the paid period. We may refund at our discretion, and we refund where the law requires it.

Limits

Each plan has limits on requests, active requests, link lifetimes and retention. They are on Limits and Pricing. At a limit, new requests are refused until the reset or a plan change; there are no overage charges.

Availability

We work to keep Sess running, but we offer no service-level agreement or uptime guarantee.

Your data

You keep the rights to the content your agents send. You let us store and process it only to run Sess for you, as the Privacy policy and Retention and deletion describe.

Disclaimer

Sess is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms and our published documentation.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Sess is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if you use Sess for free. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

Changes to these terms

We post every change here with a new effective date. For a material change, we email account holders and post it here 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Sess after that, the new terms apply.
